Honda has legal proceedings with the domain administrator for the trademark

On 9 of March Arbitration Tribunal of Moscow started proceeding of the action of Honda Motor Co., Ltd against “IPCOM” LLC that is the domain administrator of "honda.com.ru", mentioned in the documents of the case. The action is proceeded within the bounds of protection of the rights for trademark.

The action is registered under the number as А40-13817/10-19-52.

Earlier, according to the documents of the case published on the website of Moscow Arbitration Tribunal, the Complainant filed a petition concerning taking security measures where he asked to prohibit “IPCOM” LLC that is the domain administrator of honda.com.ru and “Relkom. Delovaya set” LLC, that is the domain registrar, to carry out actions on assignment of rights or surrender of rights for the domain administration as well as prohibit to make any alterations to the domain honda.com.ru and allow the Defendant  to carry out all technical and legal actions concerning transferring of the disputed domain to the Complainant. However, the Court acknowledged this petition as groundless one.

Honda started operating at the Russian market in 1991. When official sales of the company products started, consumers were offered the cars as follows: Civic and Accord. In 2004 the Company opened the branch office in Russia: “Honda Motor RUS” LLC.
